Marcus Singleton is an Executive Assistant at the National Network for Safe Communities.
Marcus worked in the City of Minneapolis for the past 8 years in several supporting and managing roles. He currently serves as a Senior Program Assistant with the city’s Neighborhood Safety Department. Past roles include Records Manager under the City Clerk’s Office, Policy Associate for the Minneapolis City Council, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, and Program Assistant in the city’s former Office of Violence Prevention. He has also served in the United States Marine Corps for 4.5 years seeing 1 combat deployment, and 1 MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit) focusing on Jungle Warfare during OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom) from 2011-2015.
In his free time, Marcus enjoys cooking from scratch, watching a variety of TV shows and movies, seeing the outdoors, volunteering no matter where, and watching copious amount of news channels from across the country to keep his finger on the pulse of cities across the county.
